ZVVEN brings a central hotpot area and an outer warming area to the same table. Share a pot in the middle while a few cooked dishes stay warm around it. Start by choosing the pot for the meal, then add two or three familiar cooked dishes. For guests, vary the menu and bring out refills in stages, giving everyone a choice without crowding the table.

A shared pot in the centre, familiar dishes around it
The layout described in the ZVVEN product collection gives the central hotpot area and the continuous outer warming area different jobs: cooking in a suitable pot, and warming food that is already cooked. The outer area provides continuous space for arranging plates around the pot, bringing a shared dish and individual favourites together.
Two questions make menu planning easier: what would the family like in the shared pot, and which cooked dishes would they enjoy alongside it? Once those are decided, choose the dishes and quantities for that meal.
Menu one: a family pot with two cooked side dishes
| Position | A possible choice | Its role in the meal |
|---|---|---|
| Central hotpot area | A tomato, mushroom and tofu pot in compatible cookware, with ingredients cooked fully before serving. | A shared centrepiece from which everyone can take a portion. |
| Outer warming area | Chicken with shiitake mushrooms and stir-fried broccoli with prawns, both fully cooked in the kitchen. | Familiar meat and vegetable dishes alongside the pot. |
| Place settings and the ordinary tabletop | Rice at each place setting, with drinks and condiments within reach. Any cold dish stays outside the heated area. | Keep the warming space for cooked food that needs it, while everyday serving stays convenient. |
The idea is a pot plus a few plates; an everyday dinner does not need to become a banquet. Adjust quantities to the people eating and try the arrangement with your usual dishes first. Leave space to lift and replace plates. A smaller spread with room around it can be just as welcoming.
Menu two: a weekend hotpot with family favourites
For guests, a clear-broth hotpot in the centre can be paired with kitchen-cooked steamed fish, braised pork and stir-fried seasonal vegetables around it. Those enjoying the hotpot can cook their ingredients in the pot, while others can begin with the prepared dishes. Choose the number of plates according to the appliance size, dish dimensions and diners; stable placement and space for serving matter more than filling every available spot.
| Preparation | Everyday dinner | A meal with guests |
|---|---|---|
| Central pot | Choose a familiar broth and prepare quantities for the people eating. | Ask about preferences and dietary needs before choosing a suitable broth. |
| Cooked dishes around it | Combine two or three familiar dishes suited to warming. | Bring out cooked dishes in stages, replacing a plate when it is finished or nearly finished. |
| Refills | Store food awaiting a refill as appropriate for that food and bring it out as the meal progresses. | Decide who will bring cooked refills and who will attend to the pot and broth, coordinating each action. |
Prepare raw hotpot ingredients separately in dedicated containers under appropriate storage conditions, then add them to the pot when needed. The outer warming area is for dishes that are already cooked. This keeps a shared hotpot and different tastes working together. See the hotpot utensil guide for the roles of raw-food tongs and shared serving utensils.
Try the pot and plates before switching on
With the appliance unplugged, place compatible empty cookware and your usual plates in their intended areas. Check the positions of handles, plate rims and controls. Confirm cookware compatibility for the central and outer areas using the purchased model's manual and the cookware instructions. The Obsidian Black series offers warming, rotation and hotpot functions, with sizes to consider alongside your table and usual place settings. The cookware and plate guide provides further guidance.
Select hotpot and warming functions as described in the model's instructions. Stop rotation before replacing a dish, ladling broth or serving, and coordinate with others at the table. Take care around hot surfaces. Cook raw food fully in the appropriate cooking area; outer warming does not replace cooking. Previously chilled cooked food should be reheated thoroughly as appropriate before table warming.
One shared pot, with something each person enjoys
China Weather's 24 October weekend forecast described rain along parts of the east coast and cooler conditions in parts of northwestern and northern China on 24–25 October. On a weekend suited to dining at home locally, planning a shared pot and a few cooked dishes can make the meal feel complete. Choose the food for your family and operate the appliance according to its model.
ZVVEN's central hotpot and outer warming layout brings a shared pot and several cooked dishes to one table. Keep it simple for an ordinary evening or add variety for guests: choose the pot, pair the plates and leave room to serve, so the person preparing the meal can sit down and enjoy it too.
